Dear Fellow PBMA
Member,
How wonderful it is that our organization is making a
true and positive impact on the citizens of our
country and the viewers of our public television
programming. Through your efforts, and the PBMA
organization, our services, member stations, and the
future just keep getting better.

This year,
we have not rested on our exceptional past record. We have
forged ahead making our organizations and members prepared to take on the
challenges the future will certainly hand us. Our standards have
notched
upward as we strive for excellence and exceeding expectations.
|
We
should all be proud of our many accomplishments this year.
Here are
a few of the year's changes:

the FY 2009 operating plan
- created a
uniform executive director job description
- generated
a management agreement with NETA that will
run to June 2011
-
redeveloped PBMA's organizational chart
-
streamlined board communication

|
Our
future projects include:

improved Telephone
Toolkits

We
networked, renewed friendships, ate, drank, and were merry
at our
outstanding PBMA conference in Las
Vegas this tear, and cemented plans
for an even bigger conference in Tampa in May 2009.
As I have stated in the past, I am excited, proud, and
honored to be your
PBMA Board Chair. Together we can and will do great things
for PBMA,
the broadcast industry, our cohorts, and the members of our great
nation.
The time is now, the future is bright, and our organization remains
dedicated
to providing the highest industry standards for education,
management,
and leadership. Together we can maintain our moment and the
wonderful
feeling we get when we know the world is a slightly better place
because of
our concerted dedication, vigilance, commitment, and
accomplishments.
Respectfully,
Monica R. Shumake
2008-2009 Board Chair |
