10:30 am - 12:10 pm
Digital Age Workflow / Re-drawing the Org Chart
We’re all in a new business. Audience expectations and cost-effectiveness demand we make the transition to full digital workflow. Almost everything technical we ever learned about making and delivering television is no longer true. Treating content as nothing more than a set of files that can be modified, stored, delivered – and destroyed, more easily and cheaply than tape-based content is a fabulous opportunity, and a huge challenge. Equipment, people, processes and structures will all be dragged through the change, willing or unwilling. Come and hear some of what our station learned as we walked the road toward becoming “just one huge server.”
Producer: LaWanna Duncan, WUFT-TV/FM
Presenter: Christine Maloney, Twin Cities Public Television

Learning Objectives:
 Learn the benefits of using digital technology to break down the walls between production, post production, broadcast, web delivery and archiving.
 Understand how converting to a digital, moving-toward-tapeless workflow will inevitably change your station and your staff.
 Learn about some of the challenges and pitfalls of making the transition.
