PBMA 2008 Welcomes Judy Woodruff, Neal Shapiro

The conference planning committee is excited to announce
that both Judy Woodruff and Neal Shapiro will be
  speaking at PBMA 2008.

Woodruff , well known as the senior correspondent for
public television's The Newshour with Jim Lehrer, is the
  conference's keynote speaker.   Woodruff says,

"The president campaign of 2008 is making this the most exciting
election in modern American history. In Senator John McCain
who rose from political death to capture the Republican
nomination, and with the extended combat between Senators
Clinton and Obama for the Democratic nomination, there have
been an endless number of stories to tell the American people
about who these candidates are, what they believe, and what
sort of President they would become. All this has presented a
huge challenge to the news media and, of course, to the
NewsHour to decide which stories to tell and how."

She will speak at a plenary session on Thursday morning.

Shapiro became the president and CEO of Thirteen/WNET
in February this year.  Before joining WNET in 2007, he
was president of NBC News and executive producer of
Dateline NBC.  Shapiro is an eloquent champion of public
broadcasting's mission, both local and global.  He is hosting
  Wednesday's conference breakfast - don't miss it!
